This is going to be a little journal series basically recapping how our beloved Oilers prospects – Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway played in their games. Yesterday, both were in action and both of their teams came away with decisive wins.

Philip Broberg

Yesterday was Sweden’s first taste of game action. They unfortunately were unable to get any warmup games in due to Covid hitting a large portion of their lineup.

Sweden won by a 7-1 score against the Czechs. Broberg played excellent all game, he was attacking a ton in the offensive zone, used his speed/size combo to his advantage, displayed a really heads up game, and was oozing with confidence. He finished the game with three assists, 17:57 TOI, and to top it all off he was named player of the game for Sweden. Great start to his tournament, lets hope he rides with this momentum throughout the whole thing.

Dylan Holloway

Canada beat up on a depleted German team yesterday by the score of 16-2. Holloway had a solid game, although he only picked up an assist. I thought he should’ve had a couple points.

Holloway displayed some great vision and passing throughout the game. As usual, he brought his typical intensity to the game and was a hound on the puck. He played a good amount of penalty killing minutes and looked great in the faceoff dot. He played close to 16 minutes and looked great beside Alex Newhook and new linemate Dylan Cozens. A very solid start to his tournament.
